What is the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive?

The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (Domestic RHI) is a government financial incentive to promote the use of renewable heat. Switching to heating systems that use eligible energy sources can help the UK reduce its carbon emissions and meet its renewable energy targets.

People who join the scheme receive quarterly payments direct to their Bank account for seven years for clean, green renewable heat it’s estimated their system produces. This estimation is produced from the properties Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) with a cap of 20,000Kwh for ASHP and 30,000Kwh for GSHP. The efficiency of the specified Heat Pump is also considered for this calculation.

The scheme opened in April 2014 and has already seen thousands of people successfully join and receive payments.
